F&Q’s

  • Hypnosis is a very natural and quite ordinary state. We all go into hypnosis several times a day without even realising it - when you arrive at your destination without remembering the journey, get lost in a book, listening to music or just looking out of the window while washing the dishes.

You can think of hypnosis as a kind of extended guided day-dreaming where your mind is in a focused state, allowing you to make the positive and beneficial changes you want to.

You remain in control at all times and there is no possibility of your getting "stuck" in hypnosis. I also can't make you do anything you don't want to - this isn't stage hypnosis you might have seen on TV!

  • An initial consultation will take 30 minutes to an hour.

A full hypnotherapy session to take up to an hour.

Hypnosis for smoking cessation will take 90 minutes to 2 hours

  • The number of sessions required varies from person to person. In most cases you will need 8 - 12 sessions after the initial consultation, sometimes more.

Exceptions to this are sessions for fears/phobias or smoking cessation.

The approach required to address fears and phobias will be determined and agreed after the initial consultation.

Smoking cessation is covered under a single extended session.

  • Yes, I do.  I offer both individual hypnotherapy and guided group relaxation sessions online. These are just as effective and secure as sessions conducted in person.

To set up an online session I'll need your email address and you'll need a webcam.

For online sessions, please make sure that you are in a comfortable environment where you won't be disturbed or distracted.

Please note that payment is due when an online session is booked and prior to the appointment taking place.

  • No. As the name suggests Solution Focused Hypnotherapy looks forward and works on getting where you want to be rather than analysing painful memories from the past. You do not have to talk about your past. If you have experienced unpleasant events, we acknowledge that they happened and help you get from where you are now to where you want to be.

  • It's not possible to provide an exhaustive list of conditions or concerns that hypnotherapy can help with, simply because the list of conditions with symptoms made worse by anxiety and stress is too long! Hypnotherapy can be extremely effective in such cases.

If you're unsure if hypnotherapy can help you, please call me for an informal chat, with no obligation to book in or send me a message via the Contact Us page and I'll come back to you.

  • No therapist can guarantee success. Success depends on your commitment to therapy and change as well as the skill level of the therapist themselves. In my training I am held to a high standard, have been working successfully with a variety of clients and conditions and have been approved by my supervisor as having achieved the required standard to be able to charge for my time and services. You are always in control of how many sessions you have and each week we will review progress together.
